This second story studio unit gives affordable beach access for up to four people. Updated with fresh, light-teal walls, you will feel the beach vacation vibes throughout the room. The kitchenette with granite counter tops has a stove, fridge, utensils, and dishes you need to enjoy your stay. Outside the kitchen, a dining table for four is perfect to enjoy a cozy meal or a game of cards with natural light from the large window. Tropical tree prints on the walls and the leaf pattern on the couch with wooden arms make the space feel like a tropical getaway. Across the coffee table, the flat-screen TV is in a cute wicker stand. You won’t feel cramped with a queen bed and a full bed in the sleeping area. The fresh bedding features abstract fish in calming sea colors. The full bathroom has a separate shower and stool, so everyone can get ready at once. There is extra counter space next to the sink, too. Everything is conveniently within reach. The palm trees on the shower curtain match the palm trees swaying outside. Amenities include: TV, Wifi, access to Charcoal BBQ pits and picnic areas, laundry facilities, 2 Boardwalks to the Beach, 2 Community Shared pools. Located near downtown Port Aransas, you have easy access to the golf course, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

There were some good and bad to this visit. You really cannot beat the location of this studio rental. The place was clean when we arrived. However, the shower curtains need to be changed out (they have them at the Dollar stores) and the AC made a really loud honking sound when it kicked on- during the day and at night. That was not good. I would also suggest adding some cabinet hardware in the kitchen (again a cheap fix). You really cant tell how the cabinets are supposed to open. Other than this it was not bad at all for the price.

We love to stay at Island Retreat! I understand that there was a transition to Life in Paradise the weekend of our stay, however, it seemed that the cleaning of the room was a bit rushed even though we didn't check in till after 4 pm. I understand it is hard to keep sand out of the rooms but ours seemed like it had not been swept at all and there were water rings on the bedside table. We also had to ask for wash cloths and kitchen towels. Overall we did enjoy our stay.
